Seriously though a 4v4 Bionic Commando 3D CTF comp would be epic, it is easy for noobs to pick up and good fun even if your losing (I suggest trying before judging gameplay vid, i remember last lan i went to we got a fair few randoms playing)

lol Collision you didn't even play, you were playing that music racing game. The game does have imba snipers / rockets although location placements on CTF maps make them hard to camp and effectively camp flag or attack flag. Though Snipers are easy to kill with rockets or counter snipe due to laser in scope mode making them visible from a far distance to rape them. Rockets are Imba although do have limited lock range and small rocket cap meaning limited rape if not camping their spawn point which are not near flags or easy locations for assaulting the flag.

More fun playing games that some players are not pro with online like TF2 or L4D2 =p, this way noobs and pros are on same playing field, another fun game is Farcry 2 has epic CTF, as you can rig CAR bombs to enemy or friendly cars with IED's. And jump into enemy car's back seat or passenger and hijack it while they are driving. Both fun lan games that would be epic since we wont all just get butt raped by the minority of pro gamers online.

dammmmmmm. I must admit I thought that dota would have more of a following since it's the older game. It's unfair to add "hon" keyword as it's an acronym for way more stuff.

lol i dont really care, no one really plays dota anymore @ LS apart from you Franger... I love WC3 Game Modes but not dota personally (never got into it). Although been playing hon online with shady and some other LS guys and it was fun before release although now the game has turned to crap with noobs / pros mixed in same bag... every game i play get my ass kicked since I always get 1/2 feeders and a ex 1850+ player on other team who has been scaled back.

Ohhh and its match making for 5v5 is total crap, it mixes 1 pro / 2 Medium Players / 2 Noobs, so its about who can carry the most for their team. Which is frustrating since the noobs are a feed threat.

I played one game of HoN ever, I did as I was told and we won.

Actually I don't play DotA anymore either, I might come back when Icefrog makes his own standalone version with Valve (assuming that is indeed what his project is) but until then i'm mostly staying away from it.

A bit late but HoN doesn't have lan unfortunately. On top of that there's no way to host local servers or 'peer to peer', so bassically it's gonna be impossible to play.

On the topic of DotA vs HoN, I honestly like both games, and I probably like DotA's game play better. However HoN wins hands down in both its current and future features. HoN is much more balanced than it was in closed beta and with the new Puck port I'm in love with the game again.

As for Franger saying DotA > HoN, it's all up to opinion, but I really don't know why he doesn't like HoN--he's only play a couple of games a long time ago. Perhaps he's just bitter about S2 copy + pasting.

Are there plans to shift DotA over to (well back to) SCII, with a more powerful editors and modern feature set, no reason it can't be the new (well old) awesome.

Tbh i am loving Heroes of Newerth with the constant hero releases, character tweaking and bug fixes makes it feel like TF2 with constant updates.

Sensator is right, hon is impossible but I think we should focus on more fun lan based games imo like i suggested. Maybe even some babo violent 2 CTF =p, but yeah I dont mind organizing some public matches can get up too 16v16 in Farcry 2 which is epic with map designs or Baboviolent ect ect... Really want to get back into more lan based gameplay from past non LS events which are great fun and a ball. less competitive and just a general frag fest of lawlz.

I agree last LAN my eye's were reopened, call me a born again pubber, TF2 and L4D2 were huge but became all encompassing. Playing FlatOut2 last LAN was the first time I've laughed out loud during gameplay in ages.

I recommend the following titles, FlatOut2, TetriNet, Armagetron Advanced, BaboViolent, and if any of you played Altitude on the free steam weekend it was great.

More little games of fun, balanced with the big games of serious.

Yeah I mostly thought it was pathetic that S2 just blatantly copied the game without even offering to get Icefrog on board to do it. And then to top it off it seemed like the game was imbalanced and wasn't being tweaked to fix it. I also dislike the item buying system, I understand that they were trying to make it easier to find items but I really think the interface falls flat and is not as good as the simplicity of War3.

Look I really had high hopes for HoN, just as I did with Demigod, but both games have let me down drastically for different reasons, although I do wonder if maybe they've improved them both since I played them. Really though the issue comes down to the fact that I see no point in playing HoN when it offers nothing to me really that I cant' get playing DotA.

And no MC at this stage there is no plan to move DotA to SC2, well not by Icefrog anyway, hes blatantly stated in the past he has no interest in doing so and hes working on a new project at Valve anyway which its heavily hinted will be another DotA clone.

SC2 will always be Soul Calibur 2 to me. Lets bring it back, gamecube style!
