Dearth of the "Steam Trick"
Looks like Steam has but a dampener on the US/UK prices purchasing trick. I couldn't do it with either my Paypal or AU CC any more. I do have a US CC, but I don't have enough dosh on it to do the purchase.
*sigh*
I purchased little less then a month ago using a master card (debit) for AvP UK. basically use CC to pay and select UK as country. Although by looks of it you dodged a bullet as AvP will Fail with lame P2P console gay'ness on launch, (the derivative of evil is P2P, you see it is linked to most violent crimes.)

Yeah, i did it no less than 1 month ago for my housemate to purchase MW2, but now it doesn't work. :(

You can get around it by having a friend whom has the US version gift it to you
I encounterd the same problem when i went to get L4D2 uncensored, but was too late, Mate Gifted it to me, and it was uncensored.
Oh yeah I know the US gift thing still works, but it's a pain in the arse to find someone. The CC trick was great! :(
I can offer to do it for you, but i guess it comes down to trust, and im fairly new to the Lansmash scene.
If you have mobile internets and can be botherd waiting till the next lan can get it done there i guess if you can be botherd waiting/cant find anyone to do it for you sooner??
